Chair Yoga is an accessible way to practice yoga without getting down on the ground. Class includes mindful movement, meditation, and conscious breathing practices. All poses and movements are practiced seated in a chair or standing using the chair for support.
Let's move! This practice uses the foundations of Slow Yoga (held postures/held focus) and adds movement linked with breath. In a Flow class, we bring awareness to the way we place our bodies within each movement, letting the breath guide the way as we flow from pose to pose. Begin to seamlessly connect one posture to the next to build a flowing practice.
Gentle Yoga is a relaxing, slow-paced, meditative class designed to help you practice yoga in a way that is gentle on your body. Ideal for the student looking for a movement practice that is nurturing and less physically demanding. Also great for beginners.
Little Yogis (ages 4-7)
In this class, your little yogi will learn all about yoga in a fun, interactive, and creative way. They will be engaged in a variety of activities that promote learning, movement, focus, and awareness. We will read stories, play games, meet our "breathing buddies," and move our bodies through the practice of yoga postures. This class is crafted specifically for young children and their imaginations!
This class uses props to support the body in positions of comfort and ease in order to help facilitate health and relaxation. You will be given ~5-15 minutes in each pose to let go and relax.
Restorative Yoga is designed to activate your body's "rest and digest" functions, giving your nervous system the opportunity to rebalance, restore, and recharge. This style of yoga may also help to relieve stress, anxiety, and depression, lower blood pressure, improve sleep, and boost immunity.
In this class you will be given space and time to slow down. With held postures and held focus, you can begin to physically and emotionally align yourself. Slow Yoga can be a highly beneficial practice for anyone looking to build strength, focus, and awareness. (all levels Hatha class)
Tween Yogis (ages 8-12)
This 45 minute class is for children 8-12 years old. Students will improve strength, balance, attention, and coordination through fun yoga games, challenging yoga sequences, as well as partner and group poses. They will learn stress management and relaxation techniques, along with mindfulness through crafts and journaling.
Class will also teach students about the importance of showing kindness towards themselves and others, and will offer the opportunity to have open conversations about real-life topics. This class is a great way to help your child build self-esteem in a non-competitive, supportive environment.
Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative style of yoga that promotes mindfulness, joint health, and flexibility. It can be a powerful tool to help manage stress and anxiety, and may also help with hip and back pain.
Each seated or reclined pose is held passively for an average of 3-5 minutes. Because the muscles are relaxed, the stretch reaches the deeper levels of the body's connective tissues, including fascia, tendons, and ligaments. Time spent in each pose also helps develop mindfulness and patience.
