Flow into Yin
This unique blend of flow, meditation, and Yin provides a beautiful balance of yin and yang energy. Class begins with a flowing practice to build prana (life force) in the body, where the breath guides the way as we flow from pose to pose. The class is punctuated by a period of seated meditation before moving into a series of passive Yin postures designed to help calm and cool the body and mind.
Gentle Movement offers mindful, supportive yoga to promote body awareness, alignment, and overall wellbeing. Ideal for students looking for a movement practice that is nurturing and less physically demanding. Also great for beginners. Props are encouraged throughout class to support optimal alignment. Folding chairs will be available for any students who prefer to participate with a chair. Options will be given throughout class for chair variations as needed.
Encouraged props: blanket or towel, pillow or cushion, block, strap
You will be given space + time to slow down your movements in this all levels Hatha class. Through held postures + slow movement, as well as pranayama + meditation, this class will help you build a sustainable yoga practice. By slowing down, we begin to feel + understand the subtleties of each posture + bring a deeper awareness to the way we move. Hatha Yoga can be a highly beneficial practice for anyone looking to build physical and mental strength, focus, balance, and flexibility.
This class uses props to support the body in positions of comfort and ease in order to help facilitate health and relaxation. You will be given ~5-15 minutes in each pose to rest, relax, and explore your inner landscape. Restorative Yoga is designed to activate your body's "rest and digest" functions, giving your nervous system the opportunity to rebalance, restore, and recharge. This style of yoga may also help to relieve stress, anxiety, and depression, lower blood pressure, improve sleep, and boost immunity.
Required props: 1 bolster, cushion, or pillows; 2-3 blankets or towels; 1 block; optional eye pillow or washcloth
Slow Flow weaves together slow movements linked with breath to build a flowing practice. Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative style of yoga that promotes mindfulness, joint health, and flexibility. It can be a powerful tool to help manage stress and anxiety, and may also help with hip and back pain. Each seated or reclined pose is held passively for an average of 3-5 minutes. Because the muscles are relaxed, the stretch reaches the deeper levels of the body's connective tissues, including fascia, tendons, and ligaments. Time spent in each pose also helps develop mindfulness and patience.
Yoga Basics is a class for all levels that focuses on relaxation, alignment, and breathing as we move. Variations of each pose will be offered so you can discover what feels best for your body and you can find YOUR yoga! Great for beginners or anyone wanting to get back to the basics and foundations of yoga.
